Living in the DC area gives me the opportunity to see this work as often as I get downtown. It is a wonderful thing to see in person. For a while, a couple years ago, the rooms inwhich the painting normally resided were closed, and this painting, as well as two other Vermeers!!!, were moved into a small room on the ground floor. No one knew about these rooms and if you found them, you could be alone with the painting - there were no guards either. It was a great pleasure.
