Winsor McCay was great. He was a phenomenal early animator as well as a cartoonist. As an entomologist I really appreciated his (1912) animation, "How a Mosquito Operates." It's worth a watch. I hadn't investigated his cartoons, but I'm pleasantly surprised--thanks for sharing these!
