Little self-portrait (without glasses.) I tried to paint the meeting of two seasons. Also, the colored elements are supposed to be Japanese maple leaves, not flowers.

1952- I assumed this was a painting of Santa Claus but now that I really look at it I don't know if that's who it's supposed to be.
* On Wikimedia (the source of this image) the medium is listed as "Oil on panel" which doesn't seem right at all to me. I was always under the impression that this was a lithograph. When I saw a similar Mucha poster in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, it was definitely a print of some kind and I suspect this is a print as well.

I have liked this painting ever since it was acquired by the CMA. Another good move by them.
This beautiful little painting is from a wonderful book called Lacquer Miniatures Fedoskino: Masterpieces of Russian Folk Artwhich was given to me as a Christmas gift by my sister-in-law . While many of the works in that book can accurately be called "folk art" there are many others (such as this one) that do not bear any resemblance to that category of art.

Although all the images on my computer are organized pretty well I do have a large folder of works that I don't know much about and I've been rifling through them lately. I took this photo in Washington D.C., but I don't know the title.
