This beautiful little painting is from a wonderful book called Lacquer Miniatures Fedoskino: Masterpieces of Russian Folk Art which was given to me as a Christmas gift by my sister-in-law . While many of the works in that book can accurately be called "folk art" there are many others (such as this one) that do not bear any resemblance to that category of art.
I like the way the snow laden branches extend down at the top and also the puffy mounds of snow that look a little like mushrooms to me! Pretty.
